Motivation

As an interdisciplinary network of scientists, the SepNet Study Group deals with the topics of severe sepsis and septic shock. The aim of the network is to create the conditions for better clinical and experimental research into sepsis and thus the development of efficient treatment approaches that have so far been lacking in Germany.

Description
The SepNet Study Group brings together experts from various disciplines working in the field of clinical and experimental sepsis research. Clinical studies can be conducted at nationwide SepNet regional centers and numerous associated centers with interdisciplinary, internal medicine and surgical intensive care units. The network has a central sample bank, which allows storage of samples for scientific analyses. The SepNet Study Group is a network of over 100 physicians and scientists from around 50 clinics and universities throughout Germany.
